You’ll want to use them to determine what heat shrinkage temperature under load and thermal conductivity ratings have been assigned to the rock wool blankets and rock wool slabs on offer. That way, you can be assured that they are capable of being used in a high heat environment.

In general, many wood stove manufacturers will recommend the use of rock wool boards or blankets that can withstand 816 degrees Celsius or more. However, as we alluded to previously, some manufacturers may suggest rock wool insulation with a different rating.
